"I live in Pittsburgh, PA, and have a regular day job. Most of my learning is done on the bus or while walking. You have great resources to help keep me learning and participating in things. I have enjoyed the Mishnayos printouts for 9 Kislev and 13 Tishrei."

Michoel Dovid Leopold

"I have been to other communities and I can't express enough how fortunate we are to have an organization like Yagdil Torah where you can walk down the street and see, 'Oh, a shiur on this, another shiur on this,' always learning and you never have to worry."

Menachem Mendel Simon

"Here more than any other place in Crown Heights have I been able to really 'chap' more of the Torah and the Rebbe's Sichos and more of the inspiration that Chassidus has to offer."

Ari Pfeffer

“I heard about Yagdil Torah’s 20 hour open-door policy and decided I had to check it out for myself. I went there at about 12:45 AM and was amazed to find people learning. I sat down and before I knew it, an hour had passed as if it was only 5 minutes… The undisturbed, quiet atmosphere made it a pleasure.

I got hooked.

I guess my newfound pleasure was noticed by my friends and neighbors – they joined too. The secret is out: If anyone wants to learn in a quiet, heimishe place, this is it.”

Shlomo Ezagui

“To have a comfortable place in the Shechunah where everyone can sit and learn is great enough, but to have so many shiurim available on a regular basis, finding chavrusas, encouraging people - especially through your wonderful newsletter -on top of that? Incredible.

But what is most amazing for me is that all the shiurim are available for me to enjoy in Miami Beach! I’m a regular listener to your shiurim on Chassidus, Nigleh, and Halachoh L'Maaseh.

Keep up the amazing work, and have tremendous hatzlochah!”

Shmuel Mendelsohn - Mashpia of Yeshivah Torah Ohr in North Miami Beach

"One of the Yagdil Torah tactics I admire is the exposure of existing Torah learning as a means of inspiring others."

Rabbi Yoseph Paltiel - Mashpia United Lubavitcher Yeshivah, Chovevei Torah

"Yagdil Torah is breathing vital life into our community. The efforts of the organization are not only important, but crucial for our very existence.

So thank you Levi and the Yagdil Torah team, for bringing us life!"

Rabbi Yossi Pels - Co-Director Chayeinu Publications

"The study of Torah each day is critical for every member of our community. It will broaden our horizons, make us happier, healthier, more wholesome people, better humans, husbands and fathers. It will challenge us to grow and live our lives to the fullest. Yagdil Torah-the way to go!"

Rabbi Yoseph Jacobson - Dean TheYeshivah.net

What's Your IQ?Yud Zayin Iyar, 5769

Don't worry, no one will measure. This Monday in honor Lag B'Omer Yagdil Torah Beis Midrash will host a Meivin Dovor M'toch Dovor program which allows you to challenge your brain (and avoid rusting) while benefiting from superior learning. The program puts you in the seat of the Rov where you get a question which you need to find the answer to. Carefully selected texts from Shas, Rishonim and Acharonim will be available for your learning, analysis and descision. Next week iy"h there will be a short shiur which will wrap it up with a positive answer to the questions.
The questions:
Can a thick wall which serves as a mechitza be replaced with a thin one to make more room in the women's section?
Does this constitute destruction of a shul?
Can this be considered destroying in order to build and be allowed?
This Lag B'Omer do exactly what Rashbi wanted: Add in learning!
Yagdil Torah Beis Midrash is located at 1483 Union St. (corner Kingston), and takes place on Mondays at 8:30 PM. For more information contact us.

It all depends on how you set it up...Chof Hei Tishrei 5769

In several sichos the Rebbe applies this specifically to the inyan of Limud Hatorah. On this occasion Yagdil Torah has published a small collection of quotes regarding the opportunity of Shabbos Breishis and several inspiring quotes relevant to this weeks Parsha. To view

A time for resolutions Yud Ches Elul 5768

In a letter from the early years, the Rebbe writes that Chai Elul is a time for hachlatos in Kvius Itim. The learning creates an atmosphere of Torah and Yiras Shomayim in the house". Everyone has room to make Hachlatos, wether it be in learning more, learning on higher level, learning with a chavrusa, or learning in public. Your friend can't tell you that, but the Rebbeim know.
A new publication from Yagdil Torah contains a compilation of aphorisms on the absolute importance of Limud Hatorah, dismissal of the fallacy that there is no time to learn, the direct effect of Limud Hatorah on common matters such as parnasa and Sholom Bayis, and more on the subject of Kvius Itim.
The questions:Can a thick wall which serves as a mechitza be replaced with a thin one to make more room in the women's section?
Does this constitute destruction of a shul?
Can this be considered destroying in order to build and be allowed? This Lag B'Omer do exactly what Rashbi wanted: Add in learning!
Yagdil Torah Beis Midrash is located at 1483 Union St. (corner Kingston), and
takes place on Mondays at 8:30 PM. For more information

Shiur with AppetizerDaled Shevat 5769
This week the Yagdil Torah Beis Midrash will host a special addition which is being called “Shiur with an Appetizer”. It is well known that the most fulfilling shiurim are the ones that are thoroughly understood due to familiarity with the subject being learned. Rabbi Levi Garelik, who will be giving this week’s shiur following the Beis Midrash learning, has kindly provided a list of Marei Mekomos for those who wish to prepare for an enjoyable shiur.
Iy”h Yagdil Torah will provide copies of the actual texts at the Beis Midrash. The list (only) of texts can be viewed below. The preparation is meant to enhance the shiur however the shiur can be understood independently as well. The Beis Midrash “program” starts at 8:30 and is preceded by Maariv at 8:15 p.m. Individuals seeking chavrusos are encouraged to join Yagdil Torah’s Chavrusa Pairing Program. The learning creates an atmosphere of Torah and Yiras Shomayim in the house".
